INFORMATION

Overview

A concussion can be caused by any severe blow to the head or a fall that causes the head and neck region to be jolted about and the brain to come into contact with the skull resulting in a bruise on the surface of the brain. Typically the fluid surrounding the brain cushions any hit but in a situation resulting in a concussion the force is too great and the fluid cannot slow the movement enough to stop it from hitting the skull.
